Ingredients

Chicken:

  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Chinese cooking wine
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Half of a whole chicken
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp green onions, grated
  • 1 tbsp green onions, chopped

Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped
  • 1 tbsp green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 4 tbsp water

Steam Chicken Recipe

Directions

Chicken:

  • In a bowl, mix the light soy sauce, Chinese cooking wine, and salt to create a marinade.
  • Clean the chicken and gently rub in the marinade, coating it completely.
  • Lay the ginger and grated green onions over the chicken and set it aside for at least 30 minutes.
  • Add water to the steamer and bring to a boil.
  • Put in the marinated chicken and let it steam on high fire for 25 minutes.
  • Once cooked, transfer it out and slice into 1-inch slices.
  • Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve.

Sauce:

  • In a saucepan, heat the sesame oil.
  • Stir fry the garlic and green onions until the oil is aromatic.
  • Add the oyster sauce, light soy sauce, and water and mix.
  • Transfer to a bowl and let it cool down before serving.
